Prairie Source Trading Ltd. was established in 2006 by Jamie Fraser and Rob Edmonds. We decided we wanted to business a different way, and that was "Our Way". We wanted to not just buy and sell grain, but to build solid long lasting relationships with our customers and conduct business in an honest and open manner.
We pride ourselves on finding our producers the best value for their grain, while providing our customers and end users with the highest quality product. When it comes to off grade grain we strive to deliver accurately graded, conditioned, and damaged products and byproducts.
With over 40 Years of combined experience and expertise in marketing and shipping grain, we promise to provide you with accurate marketing information and some of the best pricing available, as well as to execute contracts within the agreed terms and settle loads with quick payment.
Jamie Fraser (President & Trading) - Jamie brings a lifetime of farm, cattle and agricultural experience to the table. Jamie grew up on the family farm, in Hussar, AB, where he learned first hand what it takes to produce a crop each year as well as the Pure Bread Hereford business the family operated and continues to operate today. From there Jamie went on to obtain a Marketing Diploma from Mount Royal College in Calgary, AB. Then it was back to Hussar where his grain handling and purchasing began at the Pioneer Elevator and steered him into Marketing which lead him to Winnipeg, then Vancouver and eventually settled in Lethbridge, AB where he and his family have established deep roots. Jamie is our head trader looks after the majority of trading and marketing for us and is in continuous touch with all of our markets, and if there is something we don't trade regularly or don't have a current price on, he will find one for you.
Rob Edmonds (Controller & Logistics) - Rob grew up in Brooks, AB with his agricultural background during that time being limited to a few years of labour at the local feed-yard and chicken barns. After High School Rob moved to Lethbridge where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Management and was at crossroads of pursuing a Chartered Accountant designation or taking a job opportunity in the Grain Merchant business proposed by now business partner Jamie Fraser. With over 14 years experience in Trading, Logistics and overall business operations Rob is happy to have chosen the Agriculural route and looks forward to many more years of trading and moving grain. Rob is the controller as well as looks after majority of the logistics and freight, for any A/P or A/R inquiries or freight related questions he is your guy.
